Getting Started
For students and families exploring community college as a pathway to a four-year degree.
What do you do as a community college consultant?
I help students and families create a personalized plan to start at community college and successfully transfer to a four-year university. From choosing courses and understanding general education to navigating transfer agreements and financial aid, I offer expert guidance every step of the way.
Why should I consider starting at a community college?
Community colleges offer many benefits:
-
Lower tuition
-
Smaller class sizes
-
Flexible scheduling
-
The option to live at home and save on housing
-
Time to explore your interests
-
The ability to transfer and earn your bachelor’s degree from a university—your diploma will be from the university, not the community college.
Who do you work with?
I work with high school students planning ahead, current community college students, parents of students, adult learners returning to school, and anyone else who needs guidance in their college path.
Can you help me choose which community college to attend?
Yes! I’ll help you evaluate your local options based on program offerings, transfer success rates, articulation agreements, and your specific goals.
What if I didn’t do well in high school—do I still have options?
Absolutely. Community college offers a fresh academic start. Your high school GPA won’t define your future—what matters is the work you do once you enroll in college.
I’m not sure what I want to major in. Can you still help?
Yes. Community college is a great place to explore majors without pressure. I’ll help you take general education and exploratory courses while staying on track academically.
Is community college only for students who didn’t do well in high school?
Not at all. Many high-achieving students intentionally choose community college for financial savings, flexibility, and transfer options. It’s a smart move for many different kinds of students.
Can I transfer to a university in less than two years?
In some cases, yes—especially if you’ve taken AP or dual enrollment courses or can handle a heavier course load. I’ll help you assess your situation and build a realistic timeline.
How do I get started?
Reach out to me through my contact page, and we’ll schedule a free introductory call to talk about your goals and how I can help you move forward.

An Associate Degree is typically a two-year credential. You can earn one along the way to your bachelor’s degree or simply focus on taking the transferable courses required by your target university.

I provide personalized, ongoing guidance that’s focused on your student’s full journey—from community college to university graduation. I take the time to understand your family’s specific situation and goals.
How can I best support my child if they’re going the community college route?
Be open-minded and informed. Starting at a community college is often the most strategic and affordable path to a bachelor’s degree.
